On return from target near Hannover attacked by fighters, dropped out of formation under the undercast under control. Crew jumped southeast of Harderwijk. Aircraft smashed on the road Garderen - Uddel. Eventually all POW, one KIA buried Harderwijk.
 


Six were captured on the Elspeeter Heath same day by German soldiers of the 2nd. Regiment Panzergrenadiers of the Hermann Göring Division. Three men * (Fischer, Mallard and Teal) were recorded by the Germans as 'escaping'.
