On return route over the North Sea shot down by FW-190 fighter Oberfeldwebel Ernst Winkler (2./JG1) and crashed in the North Sea. 50 miles off Noordwijk. All 6 crew MIA. They are commemorated on the Wall of Missing, Cambridge Cemetery. |
