On this civilian cemetery are Dutch war graves, no commonwealth. Two are Dutch pilots who were flying in Dutch RAF squadrons (320 and 322) and were killed in action. 1 Lt. W. Matthijsen was shot down in his Hudson on a nightraid to Bremen on 26st of June 1942. He was moved to here after the war. His crew are interred in Bremen. Lt. A. A. Homburg was already a Dutch war hero before he went flying Spitfires. He was killed over the South of the Netherlands in 1945 and post war re-interred here. IJmuiden was his hometown.
